Letter from the Editor

Dear Reader,

Welcome to Issue Twenty-Eight of The Collagist!

In this issue, we have exciting new fiction from Matthew Simmons, Christian TeBordo, Emma Smith-Stevens, Joseph Salvatore, and Gabriel Welsch, as well as great excerpts from Body of a Dancer by Renee D'Aoust and the Ellipsis Press reprint of Roberta Allen's The Dreaming Girl.

Our poetry section includes returning contributor Ross White, plus new work by Michael C. PetersenOcean Vuong, and Angie Macri.

This month's non-fiction includes an essay by Ryan Ridge, another returning contributor. This month's creative audio is by David Moscovich.

In book reviews we have coverage of The Dreaming Girl by Roberta Allen (reviewed by Peter Fontaine), The Vicious Red Relic, Love by Anna Joy Springer (reviewed by Melissa Chadburn), Ventrakl by Christian Hawkey (reviewed by Josh Billings), Chattering by Louise Stern (reviewed by Anna Clark), Seven Days in Rio by Francis Levy (reviewed by Mark Snyder), and Intention Implication Wind by Ken Sparling (reviewed by J.A. Tyler).

We also welcome former contributor Joseph Scapellato to The Collagist's staff: He'll be taking over as blog editor, effective immediately, joining poetry editor Matthew Olzmann, book review editor Gabriel Blackwell, and podcast editor Bess Winter. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I'd like to thank all of my fellow editors for their hard work: The Collagist wouldn't exist without their hard work, and I'm incredibly grateful to get to work with them month after month.

Sincerely,

Matt Bell
