Issue Seventeen: December 2010


 

Jeremy Benson writes stories, poems, criticism and letters, some of which have appeared at H_NGM_N, 360 Main Street, and Right Hand Pointing. He is the Lit. Mag Review Editor for NewPages.com and the Postmaster General for the Aloha Project, the poem-on-a-postcard blog that celebrates National Poetry Month.

Justin Bigos lives in Weaverville, NC.  His poems have appeared in magazines including The Gettysburg Review, Indiana Review, Ploughshares, Inch, Crazyhorse, and The Minnesota Review.

Bruce Cohen's poems have appeared in many literary publications including, The Georgia Review, The Harvard Review, Ploughshares, Poetry, Prairie Schooner & The Southern Review, as well as appearing on both Poetry Daily & Verse Daily. He has published two books: Disloyal Yo-Yo (Dream Horse Press), which was awarded the 2007 Orphic Poetry Prize, and Swerve (Black Lawrence Press); a third is forthcoming (Black Lawrence Press): Placebo Junkies Conspiring With The Half-Asleep.

Jenny George lives and writes in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she helps run a foundation for social justice. Her poems have recently appeared in The Indiana Review and Painted Bride Quarterly. She has an MFA from the Iowa Writers Workshop.

Jarrett Haley is the editor of BULL.  His fiction has won recognition from Playboy and been featured in Pear Noir! and the Notre Dame Review.  He's a native Floridian currently doing his best to be a good Hoosier.

Charles Holdefer's most recent novel is The Contractor (Permanent 2007). His next novel, Back in the Game, will be published in 2012. He teaches at the University of Poitiers, France.

Nick Kocz’s short stories have appeared or are forthcoming in Black Warriror Review, Hobart (online), Mid-American Review, The Normal School, and PANK.  He is an Associate Editor for both Keyhole and FutureCycle Flash.

Brian Kubarycz writes and paints in Salt Lake City, where he teaches Intellectual Traditions for the Honors College at the University of Utah.  In addition to The Collagist his work has appeared in The Quarterly, Black Warrior Review, Unsaid, New York Tyrant, PANK, and NOÖ.

Susan McCarty's fiction and nonfiction has recently appeared or is forthcoming in Barrelhouse, ConjunctionsHotel Amerika, and Tarpaulin Sky. She is a PhD student in Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Utah.

Keith Montesano is the author of the poetry collection Ghost Lights (Dream Horse Press, 2010). His poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Hayden’s Ferry Review, American Literary Review, Third Coast, Blackbird, Crab Orchard Review, Ninth Letter, and elsewhere. He currently lives with his wife in New York, where he is a PhD Candidate in English and Creative Writing at Binghamton University.

Jena Salon's fiction and nonfiction have appeared in n+1.comUpstart Crows and The Literary Review. She is the Books Editor for TLR.

Rachel Yoder is a student in the Nonfiction Writing Program at the University of Iowa where she also serves as senior editor for Defunct Magazine. Her writing currently appears in the anthologies Best of the Web 2010 and The Rumpus Women, and is forthcoming in PANK and Quick Fiction. She is a founding editor of draft: the journal of process, which features short stories, first drafts, and author interviews.

Mike Young is the author of We Are All Good If They Try Hard Enough (Publishing Genius 2010), a collection of poetry, and Look! Look! Feathers (Word Riot Press 2010), a collection of stories that includes "What The Fuck Is An Electrolyte?" He co-edits NOÖ Journal, runs Magic Helicopter Press, and writes for HTMLGIANT.
