Letter from the Editor

Dear Reader,

Welcome to Issue Thirty-Seven of The Collagist: This issue marks the third anniversary of the magazine, and so I'd like to thank our staff quickly for their hard work. I have the great honor of working with some of my favorite writers and editors here at the magazine, and I couldn't do it without them. So thank you, to Matthew Olzmann, Gabriel Blackwell, Joseph Scapellato, Bess Winter, Amber Cook, Melissa Goodrich, Elizabeth Deanna Morris, and David Bachmann.

It's just as important to take this opportunity to thank you, our readers: Thank you for coming back every month, for sharing the work you find here across the internet, for generally being so supportive of our writers and our efforts. I can't tell you how much it means.

In Issue Thirty-Seven, we have new fiction from Nick Francis Potter, Evelyn Hampton, T Kira Madden, and Chelsea Bieker, as well as an excerpt from Paula Bomer's Nine Months, out this month from Soho Press.

In poetry, we have new work by Rochelle Hurt, W. Todd Kaneko, Charlie Clark, and Tarfia Faizullah. In non-fiction this month, we have an essay on both the film and the novel Satantango, by Drew Johnson.

Our book reviews this month include coverage of We Only Know So Much by Elizabeth Crane (reviewed by Leah Tallon), The Portable Son by Barrett Hathcock (reviewed by John Shortino), Radio Iris by Anne-Marie Kinney (reviewed by Darby M. Dixon III), Cul de Sac by Scott Wrobel (reviewed by Chris Vola), and George Trakl: Poems by George Trakl (reviewed by Ann Marie Thornburg).

As always, thanks to all of the above contributors for being a part of this issue, and thanks to you and all the rest of our readers for visiting us this month.

Sincerely,
Matt Bell
